The product did not work as promised…it did not fit my iPhone 3G, so had to return it back. Amazon was prompt in returning the refund..

First off, its near impossible to get open, the instructions are weak to non-existant, go buy something else, maybe a ziplock bag.

I ordered an Otter Box from Amazon which came with a beautiful 4-color instruction sheet. Item 3 said to remove the protective plastic coating from the inside of the clear screen. I tried to remove the coating for about 20 minutes with no luck until I decided to take an x-acto knife to peel it back from an edge on the inside of the yellow box where no scratches could be seen. I still had no luck. I then tried different corners – no luck. I then called Otter. It seems there is no coating and that the instructions included in the product were for an earlier version. I asked them if they would send me a new box because I wanted one in which there were no marks (yes, I made them) from trying to remove the non-existent protective cover. Nice people – they were sending me a new box.

I then went ahead to see how the entire assembly worked. Again, I tried and tried, but my iPhone just would not fit in the Otter Box. I then called Otter again and it seems the 3G and the 3GS models require different Otter Boxes than the original iPhone – who knew? Again, they would send me the correct model for my 3G iPhone. As I said – nice people.

Upon receiving the new, right size Otter Box, with no protective coating to remove, I cleaned off my iPhone with a micro fiber cloth, put it in the yellow plastic case, put the black rubber cover on it and then I put the entire assembly in the belt holder. Only problem now is that the belt holster doesn’t even the Otter Box in place – it falls right out with no effort whatsoever! I bought the Otter Box because I work in construction and in a shop and I wanted protection for my iPhone. Clearly, if the Otter Box assembly with the iPhone inside falls right out of the holster – what’s the point?

As I mentioned above – very nice people, nice concept, really aggravating product – and lots of wasted time on tip of that.

This case will not allow you to dock your phone while it is on the iPhone. The case is three parts and it is difficult to take apart. The screen protector makes it difficult to see the screen becase of all the air trapped between the screen protector and the iPhone. There are better cases that allow you to dock the phone. Also the best screen protector is something called “Best Skins Ever”. It compliments the Specks Tough Skins case which allows you to easily dock the iphone. Otterbox customer service is horrible as well.
